How to use Zello in a telemedicine visit

Guidance for recording a remote visit, keeping the microphone active, and generating a real-time transcript.

Short answer

For telemedicine, check the call audio, choose telemedicine mode in Zello, share the correct browser tab with audio enabled, and keep capture active until the visit ends.

01

Open the video call and check the audio

Before starting Zello, confirm that the microphone works in the call tab.

02

Return to Zello and choose telemedicine

Choose Telemedicine in the recording workflow. The browser may request permission to capture audio or a browser tab.

03

Share the correct tab when prompted

If the browser asks you to choose a tab, select the call tab and enable audio sharing when that option appears.

04

Keep the call tab available

Do not close or replace the shared tab during the visit. If capture stops, end and restart the recording.

05

Review it like an in-person visit

After finishing, review the generated document before approving or sharing it.

Best practices

  • Use an up-to-date version of Chrome for better tab-audio compatibility.
  • If you use a Bluetooth headset, confirm that it is the active system audio input.
  • For sensitive visits, restate patient consent at the beginning of the call.
